Keisha Allen is community leader in South Baltimore and has served as President of the Westport Neighborhood Association since 2011. Keisha and her neighbors work tirelessly to promote neighborhood revitalization efforts while preserving its legacy, launching a community land trust, hosting community engagement events, while working to eliminate air and land pollution and other hazardous environmental concerns that have plagued her neighborhood for decades.
In 2013, she co-founded the Westport Community & Economic Development Corporation (WCEDC) also known as Harbor West Collaborative which is an initiative of WCEDC, bridges the missions of community development organizations throughout the Harbor West neighborhoods of Lakeland, Mount Winans, Saint Paul, and Westport. In 2016, Keisha and community leaders from five adjacent neighborhoods formed the South Baltimore 6 Coalition in which a $39 million community benefits agreement was negotiated with Sagamore Development Co. (Port Covington) to fund community priorities such as affordable housing, economic & community development, and workforce development.
Beyond her neighborhood, she has previously served as Vice-Chair and board member on the Horseshoe Casino Local Development Council, South Baltimore Gateway Partnerships and the Civilian Review Board of Baltimore City. She was appointed to the Baltimore City Democratic Central Committee in the 46th legislative district in February 2021 to fill a vacancy and now also serves on the Maryland Democratic Party Environment & Climate Crisis committee. Keisha was appointed to the United Way of Central Maryland board in July 2021.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying out new restaurants and traveling.
